This week at Signature Living, we have revealed some new images of how the Dixie Dean Hotel will look, featuring a stunning tree-lined Football Quarter and statues of footballing icons.
The hotel, which commemorates the life and career of Everton legend Dixie Dean, sits opposite the amazing Shankly Hotel on Victoria Street, in the heart of Liverpool city centre.
Set to open in the summer of 2018, the hotel will form one half of the world’s first ‘Football Quarter’ and feature statues of Liverpool FC and Everton FC legends installed along the tree-lined avenue.
The Jerome and Carlisle Buildings, which were formerly used as a Magistrate’s court, will be beautifully transformed into?100 luxury suites as well as bar & restaurant, wedding & events venue and the Dixie Dean Museum where never before seen memorabilia will be displayed.
Set to become neighbours, the Dixie Dean Hotel will open its doors across from The Shankly Hotel in celebration of Liverpool?s unique footballing culture.
With The Shankly Hotel being the premier destination for football fans not only in Liverpool but in the world, we have announced the plans to develop a new quarter in the city ? the?Football Quarter.
Bringing all of Liverpool?s rich football history and proud fans together in one beautiful part of the city.
The Everton, Liverpool FC rivalry is truly unique, being described as heated but also friendly. There is a great deal of respect shown from both teams.
Fans visiting Liverpool or locals looking for an overnight stay in the city will be able to visit the quarter and choose between a stay at the Shankly or the Dixie Dean.
Along with the unique Football Quarter, there will be statues erected depicting Liverpool footballing icons and one of Dixie and Shankly.
The statue will depict Dixie Dean, a legend of Everton, and Bill Shankly, hero of Liverpool Football Club, arm in arm as a testament to the friendship that blossomed following their respective retirement from the beautiful game.
The iconic statue will be the newest tribute to the men who changed Merseyside football forever.

An Everton fan as a child, Dean memorably scored a record 60 league goals during the 1927-28 season and was the first Everton player to wear the number-9 shirt.
Famously, when Dean died in 1980 at Everton?s home ground, Bill Shankly commented:
He belongs to the company of the supremely great, like Beethoven, Shakespeare and Rembrandt.
The plans also incorporate the historic Everton crest into the facade of the new Dixie Dean Hotel.
The turret above the entrance of the fantastic tribute will be given a metal decoration to make it resemble the much loved Everton FC crest.
The images show how the Dixie Dean Hotel will be beautifully lit, reminiscent of London?s Harrods and reflective of the four-star luxury of the hotel?s interior.
Fans can expect an atmospheric feel to the Dixie Dean with history and character radiating from the striking venue. The hotel will be fitted with spacious, unique rooms and of course, memorabilia donated from the Dean family themselves.
Daughter of the Everton legend, Barbara expressed:
Dixie was great friends with Bill Shankly. They had an enduring friendship despite representing rival teams, so it?s good to see them commemorated side by side. It means their legends will live on.?
